Zambia and Tunisia draw
Filed Thu 14 Jan

Zambia and Tunisia scrapped out a 1-1 Group D draw in Lubango as the first round of African Cup of Nations matches came to a close in Angola.

Zambia threatened a shock when Jacob Mulenga gave them the lead after only 19 minutes, However, just before the break Tunisia levelled through Zouheir Dhaouadi.

Zambia had the majority of possession but missed a number of chances in the second half to take all three points. With Rainford Kalaba having the best chance in the 69th minute, rising to meet a superb deep cross from Christopher Katongo, he headed into the ground when he should have found the back of the net.

Tunisia looked dangerous throughout on the counter-attack, but it was Zambia who thought they had won the game when substitute Emmanuel Mayuka headed home, only to see his effort ruled out for offside.
